waterways of life
Our bodies are approximately 60 percent water, and 71 percent of this planet (as it stands now) is water. Who knows how much of it there is in the greater galaxy which includes the ice clouds of Neptune and the underground pools of Pluto sheathed in layered ice.
Think about it. Water is one of the elements in this universe shared by all.
So it was no surprise to build common ground around the concept of water with Roger Moe whose photographs capture in stunning light the crystalline rivers and lakes of his homeland, Norway.
Our worlds merged on social media where I was instantly taken in by his compositions. The wordless Scandinavian beauty he captured was one I might not ever see otherwise.
The camaraderie between us has developed over the few years; we often applaud each other’s work with authentic congratulations and appreciation.
Truly lovely.
And when he accepted my invitation to participate in an ekphrastic adventure with me, I was thrilled.
He offered me a poignant photograph of his mother (who had recently passed) and his beloved daughter. And it took me only a few heartbeats to find the undercurrents of such a personal image.
It was there in the water.
A few days later he surprised me with a counter offer. Would I send him a poem he could describe with a photograph?
I did.
He found the water, too.
Here are the results of our collaborations. In them, we built bridges across oceans and mediums of art.

Beautiful photos and poems!
